Devon Development Education - partners and providers

DDE and the Devon Global Education Network (GLEN) have developed a database of global citizenship/development education providers in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay Local Education Authorities.

The groups and individuals listed all offer curriculum support and/or opportunities for professional development for those wishing to develop the global dimension in schools, colleges, youth groups etc.

A brief summary of the services offered by each provider is given below. Click through for further information and the contact details of each provider.

Andrew Bell is a global citizenship education consultant and freelance writer. He has written content for a number of global citizenship education websites and provides workshops and in service training for teachers. Full details

Jane Collingwood is a Save the Children speaker and can offer assemblies, classroom discussions and workshops using a wide range of Save the Children produced resources such as videos, slides, booklets, leaflets and posters. All resources/activities are based on National Curriculum requirements. Full details

Alan Dyer specializes in active, practical and experiential workshops in global and environmental issues for teachers, leaders and rangers. Full details

Jane Habermehl specialises in global education and children's rights for early years education. Full details

Jane Murray provides UNICEF INSET training for teachers in Plymouth on Global Citizenship issues including fair trade, sustainability and refugees. Full details

Heather Price provides INSET training for teachers, youth workers and community groups on Global Citizenship including issues such as children’s rights, fair trade, refugees and sustainability. Full details

David Selby works at the Faculty of Education, University of Plymouth, which, from September 2005 is offering a one-year full-time masters degree in Global Education. He and his team are also available to lead/facilitate global education seminars, workshops and summer schools and offer consultancy and in-service training to schools. Full details
