Summary of services provided:
Jane is based in Plymouth and provides UNICEF inset training for teachers in global citizenship.

She is a trained geography teacher and has travelled extensively in Ghana. She is involved in the coordination of school links between Plymouth and Ghana and is able to help UK schools develop linking opportunities with schools in Ghana.

Jane is able to and offer lively interactive workshops to Key Stage 1 and 2 based around daily life in Ghana. The workshops celebrate the similarities and differences between life in the UK and Ghana and aim to encourage empathy with children living in a different culture: to imagine life without running water or electricity; to break down perceptions of ‘poor countries’. The workshops provide pupils the opportunity to learn a song, dress up, handle everyday objects, role play scenes from daily village life and interpret photographs.
