Global Centre Community Events

spring-programme-cover-reducedDDE runs a programme of community events at the Global Centre in Exeter. Please see PDF of our Spring Programme 2012. These events are listed here for your information, most are free and registration is not required unless you choose to show your interest.

 

 

Regular events include:

Nazima_at_Tana

Gown Meets Town – an opportunity for Exeter townspeople and students to get together to listen and contribute to presentations and debates from PhD students.

 World at Lunch – every Thursday 1-2pm. Bring your lunch and share a discussion of what’s happening in the world with a friendly multi-cultural group. Look out for occasional World at Lunch specials.

Global Book Club – join a group of individuals interested in learning more about the world around them through the reading of factual books and novels. Read the book and then join our lively discussion group (crib notes available for those who don’t have time to read the full book!).

World at Lunch

It was the first bacterium ever described, yet we're still not sure about the details of its tranmission. Long feared, apparently disappeared, new cases are still being discovered across the world. Former East Asia/Pacific director of the world's largest dedicated leprosy charity, The Leprosy Mission International, Dr Ditch Townsend will be talking us through the problem.
