held weekly at the Global Centre
|
The Calabash Club aims to inspire young children to ask questions and
explore aspects
of different cultures in our world through play, stories and art & craft
activities. The sessions are led by Jane Habermehl, an
experienced early years teacher. For an information leaflet on the Calabash
Club click here
Jane also offers Spinning
Globe workshops in
schools, an innovative, educational and fun approach to
traditional
folk tales and storiesf rom around the world. Click
here for details.
 |
Jane designs and decorates the backdrops
to the story
tent.
|
 |
Each week a particular country or theme is explored
and the backdrops to the Story Tent reflect this theme.
|
 |
Jane also uses various props and puppets to help her tell the stories.
|
 |
There are always plenty of toys and artifacts
from around the world for children to investigate, feel and
play with.
|
 |
Arts and crafts are also an important part of
each session, and again activities reflect the country or theme in
question.
|
Pre-school
children and their parents or carers are welcome to join
in the fun in the global Story Tent each Friday between 10am and 12pm.
Just £1
per child. Plus a free cup of Fairtrade tea or coffee for the adults. Please
