Teaching and educational
resources

The Global Centre has a wide range of teaching and learning
resources for Global Citizenship education. These can be viewed at the
centre before purchase and some are available for members to take out
on loan.
Early Years resources
We have a range of multicultural toys
and resources including African, Indian, Oriental, and European boy
and girl dolls; multicultural puzzles, a giant world cloth map, musical
instruments
from around the world and a selection of animal puppets and soft toys
from around the world.
We also have a range of books and Early years photopacks.
There is also the chance to dress up in costumes from around the world!
The costumes are suitable for children aged 2 to 4 and include the following:
- Cheongsam from China (boys and girls)
- West African Dress
- West African Buba
- Jellaba for boys (North Africa and Middle East)
- Rajasthani girls costume
- Kurta Pyjama, boys N. India and Pakistan
- South Indian Pavadai (girls skirt and blouse)
- South Asian Lungi, boys
- Muslim girls Hijab
- Kaffiyeh, Arab headscarf and band
- Gandhi cap
We also have a range of African school uniforms and adult dresses,
Shalwar Kameeze (India and Pakistan) and
Kimono.
Special Needs resources
Developing good practice in Special Schools - a publication that
resulted from global citizenship curriculum development
projects by
seven teachers from five Special Schools in Devon and Plymouth. The work
was funded
by Oxfam Development Education and organised
through a DDE Project Team. Click

Fairtrade resources
The centre has a range of resource packs for teaching about issues related to
trade and Fairtrade. Try our Fairtrade

to help students learn about Fairtrade in a fun way.
Resources for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)
ESD enables young people to develop
the knowledge, values and skills to participate in decisions about the
way we do things individually and collectively, both locally and globally,
that will improve the quality of life now without damaging the planet
